Falanghina 2010 By Antica enotria
Falanghina 2010 By Antica enotria
certified organic

WINE MAKER: Luigi di Tuccio
PRODUCTION AREA: Vineyard near Cerignola, the soil is fairly calcareous soils and sandy loam texture.
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Falanghina Organic
Falanghina is one of those grapes that came out of nowhere to an almost sudden stardom. This native of Campania, in southern Italy, has a floral-mineral profile that sits well with its mostly coastal environs around Naples, where it is very much a foil to seafood. The colour is a straw yellow with intense golden glints and fruity scent. This wine presents pleasant floral and aromatic notes. It is Harmonious, sapid and dry taste. Falanghina escape a Grigio-like fate if it follows in the line of higher yields, less attentive winemaking and easy profits. But just as there are extraordinary Pinot Grigio's that will restore your faith in that variety, there is Falanghina that aims to be so much more than a simple life near the shore.

Polvanera Falanghina 2010
Polvanera Falanghina 2010
by Polvanera, Organic

Very deep lemon gold colour. Lots of legs, almost viscous. The nose is really interesting and complex - Intense barley sugar, burnt toffee, peaches. Some minty spice and liquorice oak. The palate is also complex, intense and pleasant. The acidity is surprisingly high for Puglia. With a medium to full body, there are intense flavours of grilled green pepper, asparagus, peach juice followed by bitter chocolate and liquorice and with a finally of chewing tobacco. A really interesting wine, especially to try out new flavour and aroma notes. Definitely needs food to match this dry white and vegetal tastes. Great with a good roast chicken or lamb.

Polvanera Fiano Minutolo 2010
Polvanera Fiano Minutolo 2010
organic fiano minutolo

You may have been introduced to Fiano Campano some time over the last few years, well now we have a real treat for you; Fiano Minutolo, the aromatic and in some ways, more charismatic brother of Campano.  Fiano Minutolo is an indigenous variety to Puglia and is the result of Fiano  planting hundreds and hundreds of years ago. With the changes in climate, soil and terroir it has evolved into this very pretty and lively Fiano.

The generous aroma is the first thing you notice as citrus and peach start to make the mouth water. Once in the mouth it reveals it's delicate minerality, crisp acidity, it's lean freshness and finishes with traces of lime blossom that you earlier detected on your nose.

This is a great summer wine and a tribute to it's seaside home of Puglia. Salute.

Terre al Monte D.O.C.
Terre al Monte D.O.C.
Sauvignon Blanc by Rivera

The good people at Rivera have risen to the challenge of successfully adapting a typically northern variety to the warm climate of Puglia. Its vines have found their place in the Murgia hills, not the most hospitable environment, I must say. Unforgiving land of rock and harsh elements have all added to the result. The result is Terre al Monte and it speaks for itself.

He wine is pale & luminous, it has a crystal appearance that speaks to you in a soft voice, a whisper, not unlike the Murgia breeze on a warm afternoon, seducing you into taking the next step.

The nose will give you some typical Sauvignon characteristics of intense fruit but no passion fruit here my friends, the Murgia hills are a long way from N.Z…

Finally it reaches your mouth where the fruit comes alive, excellent balance is displayed and is crisp and dry on the palate.

You could quite easily settle into a few bottles of this on a warm evening with some seafood, poultry or a light meat dish.
